EU project Erasmus+ “Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development” (SARUD)

Project “Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development” (SARUD) has gathered efforts of higher educational institutions and non-academic public and private organisation from different regions in Russia and in Kazakhstan, who with support of the EU partners from Germany, Poland and Czech Republic jointly elaborated the advanced Master’s programme with a profile Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development and established Knowledge Platform on sustainable agriculture and sustainable development of rural areas.
The Master-programmes are implemented in 4 Universities of the Russian Federation: Omsk State Agrarian University named after P. Stolypin, Michurinsk State Agrarian University, Buryat State Agricultural Academy named after V. Philippov and Novosibirsk State Agrarian University; and 3 Universities of Kazakhstan: Seifullin Kazakh  Agrotechnical UniversityUalikhanov Kokshetau State University and Kostanai State University Baitursynov.
The Master-programmes serve as a kind of response to the need for a practice-oriented education that should be of interest to both graduates with a bachelor’s degree and to working professionals wishing to improve their qualifications. SARUD atrracts practical partners and stakeholders, contributes to interregional exchange and cooperation, creates local working groups in order to renew and improve the curriculum and study programme on a regular basis.
The main goals of SARUD projects are seen as:
* design of interdisciplinary applied Master-programme on Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development considering the regional needs  in specialists in administrations, authorities and agricultural enterprises; .
• foundation of electronic Knowledge Platform which deals with the issues of sustainable agriculture and complex development of rural areas on the basis of international, national and regional experiences and practice;
* strengthening of competencies and interregional cooperation among the partner-universities and stakeholders for conducting backstopping trainings in the field of rural development.
